Horray! One less derelict building in Bethnal Green

I’ve just received a nosey neighbour email from planningalerts.com. Normally these alerts contain depressing details of a  planned tower block development on green space, however this time it contained some great news.

Planning is underway for a derelict building up the road to be demolished and converted into a new block of flats.

There was a terrible fire at this site on 20 July 2004. Two firefighters were killed in the blaze. The burnt out shell has remained on the site for the last four years.
